Pho Hung Vuong Saigon - Best Beef Noodles & Comforting Flavors

Pho Hung Vuong Saigon has become a familiar name among locals who crave a comforting bowl of Vietnamese noodle soup in Melbourne’s southeast. Located at 2/15 Balmoral Ave, Springvale VIC 3171, Australia, and reachable on +61 3 9558 5147, this eatery reflects the everyday food culture that defines Springvale. From early evening dinners to relaxed late meals, Pho Hung Vuong Saigon attracts diners who value speed, generosity, and traditional flavours served without fuss.

Within the first visit, many guests notice how quickly food arrives at the table. This pace suits families, workers, and anyone seeking a satisfying meal without a long wait. The restaurant’s focus remains on classic Vietnamese dishes, especially pho, which sits at the heart of its reputation.

A Vietnamese dining staple in Springvale

Springvale is widely recognised in Victoria for its strong Vietnamese community and diverse food scene. Pho Hung Vuong Saigon fits naturally into this landscape by offering dishes that reflect home style cooking rather than modern reinvention. The dining room is practical and welcoming, designed for comfort and accessibility rather than trend driven décor.

With wheelchair accessible entry, high chairs for young children, and on site toilets, the space supports a wide range of diners. Dinner service is particularly popular, when families and groups gather to share steaming bowls of noodles and classic drinks. Delivery options also make it easy for locals to enjoy familiar flavours at home.

Pho that defines the menu

Pho remains the main reason many customers return. The menu includes several variations, allowing diners to tailor their bowl to their preference. Beef Brisket and Rare Beef Pho is a popular choice, offering tender slices of meat paired with rice noodles in a hot broth. Beef and Brisket Pho and Raw Beef Pho also feature prominently, reflecting the kitchen’s focus on beef based soups.

Some diners highlight the quality of the meat, noting generous portions and satisfying texture. Others prefer combination bowls such as the Beef N Chicken Pho, which brings together different proteins for a fuller meal. The pho arrives quickly, often steaming, making it ideal for cooler Melbourne evenings.

Feedback on the broth varies, which is common with traditional noodle shops. While many enjoy the richness and warmth, a few diners find the soup saltier than expected or the noodles softer than their preference. These differing opinions reflect how personal pho can be, with each guest bringing their own expectations shaped by family recipes or past experiences.

Beyond noodles and soup

While pho leads the menu, Pho Hung Vuong Saigon also offers a range of complementary dishes that round out the dining experience. Salt and Pepper Squid stands out as a savoury option, often ordered as a shared plate. Prawn Rice Paper Rolls provide a lighter choice, balancing fresh herbs, rice paper, and seafood.

Banh Mi adds another layer to the menu, appealing to those who prefer a quick, handheld meal. These Vietnamese rolls are known for their contrast of crisp bread and savoury fillings, making them a popular takeaway option.

The inclusion of items such as 百叶粉 shows a connection to broader Asian noodle traditions, reflecting the diverse influences present in Springvale’s food culture.

Drinks that complete the experience

Traditional Vietnamese drinks feature strongly and pair naturally with the food. Vietnamese Iced Coffee is a favourite, offering a bold, sweet finish to a meal. The Three Colour Drink, also known as Three Colours, adds a visual and textural contrast with layers of beans, jelly, and coconut milk.

Coconut Water and Logan Drink provide refreshing alternatives, especially for those seeking something lighter. These beverages help balance the richness of noodle soups and fried dishes, making the overall meal feel complete.

Service style and dining atmosphere

Service at Pho Hung Vuong Saigon is often described as fast and efficient. Meals are served quickly, which suits the restaurant’s role as a neighbourhood favourite rather than a destination for long, drawn out dining. Staff focus on keeping tables moving while maintaining a friendly, straightforward approach.

This style resonates with many Australian diners who value reliability and consistency. Families appreciate the practical setup, while regulars enjoy knowing they can walk in, order, and eat without delay.

Why locals keep coming back

Pho Hung Vuong Saigon continues to draw repeat customers because it delivers what many people seek from a Vietnamese noodle house. The menu stays focused, the portions are filling, and the experience feels familiar. For those living in or visiting Springvale, the restaurant represents a dependable option for dinner, whether dining in or ordering delivery.

The mix of strong menu highlights, accessible amenities, and a location within one of Victoria’s most food rich suburbs gives Pho Hung Vuong Saigon lasting appeal. It may not aim to please every palate in exactly the same way, but it remains a solid choice for anyone wanting a taste of Vietnamese comfort food in Australia.

12/7/25 - 4.5 stars Quite the famous pho spot in Springvale which has been around for ages. In the words of my friend, "a Melbourne institution". As you'd expect, this place is 100% focused on the food with quick no-fuss service and basic furnishing. As a result, the pho here is unique and delicious with a steady stream of customers. Beef Pho Soup: SS+, 9.5/10. Probably the cleanest tasting beef broth I've had. Not as deep and complex as some others, but, super beefy and umami. Beef: S, 8/10. Good but not super tender Noodles: A, 7/10 Value: S, 8/10. $17 for a medium. Chicken Pho Soup: S+, 8.5/10. Also really clean, but, seemed lack a bit of that distinctive chicken flavour. Chicken: A, 7/10. A bit chewy tough except for thigh. Value: S+, 8.5/10. $18 for a large.

One of the best pho spots in Melbourne. You'll need to line up, and it's just pho on the menu. Hopefully they'll maintain their quality, the noodles this time were a bit broken up, however that's just once in quite a few visits.

Pretty friken tasty when the bowls are bought over and you can smell the sweet broth from under you. Don’t even need to add any condiments; no sriracha, no extra soy or whatever condiments are usually on the side. That’s when you know it’s a good broth and I’m not usually a broth girl. I love the simplicity of the menu, they serve pho and pho only. Good variety of meat cuts to go with so I was a happy gal - I love having a bit of all portion size to cost was so good, how more places should aspire to be worth the springvale pho hype.

The best pho I’ve ever had in Melbourne. The restaurant seems to always be busy, so we waited for like 20 minutes. But the food was worth the wait. I recommend the beef one, i just had the chicken since i don’t eat beef but the soup was surprisingly amazing!
